Noodle Samurai Gang!

Some tuscan red col-erase goodness! 

It was a quick assignment so I didn't have the luxury of designing too much. I decided that my 3 samurai would follow the shapes of a triangle, a square and a circle, and then to start the compositions.

Weeeeell, new post everybody. I'm close to my post 200! I'll try to make it big =)

Roughs and finals!

These are some character designs and their color versions I did to keep exercising that muscle. I have so much work I feel I'm merging with my desk... we'll soon become one!

The color version of El Spawn-O!

I tried to keep it more about the design than the color, and left the fat detective without shading. I do like it this way.

She looks mean...

My friend with her pet. I'm so not used to these colors, I need to keep practicing with a more cheerful palette. My drawings are getting a bit angry, I could use some good vibes from time to time =)
She also has a website!

Sorta self-caricature?

It started as a random face and when it kinda started looking llike me, I decided to take it all the way (well, most of it) there.

It took me three Craig Ferguson's Late Late Shows and one Stephen King interview to get to this point. Painting is a good getawaynow that I'm not sleeping well, with a ton of work and have a constant ulcer. Arhg.

I might continue the caricature in the future. Or, as history has already proven, I might not.

Ranger

 The blog is still alive! Me? Barely, but here you have me posting again.

This is a sketchbook drawing that started from an arrow shape. I was watching Samurai Jack and its fantastic simple and clever designs, and I kinda wanted to do something similar but not as flat, so I just started doodling until I got to this ranger-like dude walking through a swamp.

And after I scanned it I was tempted to make some simple shading with grey tones, and this is what happened...

Ok people! I'll try to upload more things more often. I will. Try. For real.

This is a color study of Samantha. It took me around 2 hours to paint it, but I'm planning on either refine it or start a new one. 

The painting doesn't make her justice. She's way prettier than my sketch (and in my defense, my pic wasn't too good either). I still think is a good start.

Storyboard/animatic

These pics are the roughs and final storyboard pieces of my final thesis project. Is not finished yet, but I like how is going. Hope you guys enjoy!

The rabbit above is a previous design, that I later changed for story purposes.

The octopus right here is not the final design, though the simplicity and expressiveness is quite good, so I think I'll keep that.

This is closer to what'll be the final look of my rabbit... on steroids.

A couple of storyboard thumbnails, stage planning and designs of some guys in the audience.

From here below you'll see the shots of the ongoing storyboard. I'm still changing it (especially the middle, it could use more gags), but I quite like it. Hope you guys enjoy it!
