I just realized that I never posted this before.

This was supposed to be an illustration for a pop-rock cd booklet, but in the end the whole concept was changed, and this one was never used.

Gangster Snow White Queen

Gangster-themed snow white queen, when she's about to question the mirror. I thought it would be an interesting excuse for the drawing, and also, that would be a horrible horrible movie.

We had to draw a 2 point perspective setting with a reflection in a mirror.

Here's the complete piece (with a funky color thanks to my cel phone cam)

And here're some detail captions. With more time, I'd like to at least shade it in the (far) future (I guess).

That's for today... I shoulda cleaned it but it's already too late, no open stores, no car to roam to find an unlikely open place, so... this'll do!

Head Drawing Friday 18

Last friday was intense. I tried to the the most decent-quality looking bearded guys I could do in the 6 hours the class lasted, and I feel it went pretty well. There's also a 15 minute one, but I'm not posting that one.

Even if I quite like 'em, I still feel there's something missing... maybe is the 10,000 extra hours I should dedicate only to charcoal... just guessing.

(This one was by far the most succesful drawing among my classmates)

And after classes we had the workshop. I decided to go for a caricature again, because the value technique is the same.

Some last week head drawings

Well, the post title kind of describes it all...

 I was trying to go for a more impresionistic feeling, having a clear focal point and letting some areas very rough, and letting others without  marks ar all. I like this one quite a bit.

This other guy was a quick and dirty version of the same model.

And she is a classmate I had to draw in a big two-week assignment. I quite like it, but I still feel that I could have made some more "I-don't-know-what"... I still have the chance to make some changes though.

Tomorrow's a new charcoal day. I love'em!

Third and last part of my current "Drawing from Imagination" assignment that I have to actually submit today.

It was a fun piece. I'll post the process next time, and if my lazyness allows me, I'll even post all the charcoal drawings and my latest sketches in a big post.
