My desk and some dry media

Hello people of the world! Well, this is a picture of my (very messy) workplace, which I expect to eventually cover in bad lettering, some pastel drawings I did during last semester (the pics aren't the best either... sigh!), and some charcoals that I quite like. They could use some extra contrast in these pics, but meh... Actually, the charcoal head drawing is my favorite head drawing so far, and also the quickest. It took me 45 minutes :)

Head Drawing Friday 18

Last friday was intense. I tried to the the most decent-quality looking bearded guys I could do in the 6 hours the class lasted, and I feel it went pretty well. There's also a 15 minute one, but I'm not posting that one.

Even if I quite like 'em, I still feel there's something missing... maybe is the 10,000 extra hours I should dedicate only to charcoal... just guessing.

(This one was by far the most succesful drawing among my classmates)

And after classes we had the workshop. I decided to go for a caricature again, because the value technique is the same.

Some last week head drawings

Well, the post title kind of describes it all...

 I was trying to go for a more impresionistic feeling, having a clear focal point and letting some areas very rough, and letting others without  marks ar all. I like this one quite a bit.

This other guy was a quick and dirty version of the same model.

And she is a classmate I had to draw in a big two-week assignment. I quite like it, but I still feel that I could have made some more "I-don't-know-what"... I still have the chance to make some changes though.

Tomorrow's a new charcoal day. I love'em!

Head drawing... whatever

Nuevas cabezas! Hoy comenzamos a probar con un estilo más expresionista bien interesante... todavía me falta mano para varias cosas, pero siento que hoy tuve bastantes descubrimientos (y adelantos!), así que estoy contento.

Tres horas. (Si... no es demasiado increíble, pero aprendí harto!)

(Y como photoshop es mágico, le di un poco de color, y se ve harto más como el modelo).

Today the teacher made us continue this drawing. Here´s the result!

First AAU drawing

Por fín empezaron las clases! Mi primera clase fue "Dibujo de la cabeza", donde hicimos algunos bocetos rápidos de distintas posiciones, y una pose más larga, que es la que estoy posteando aquí. Le tengo TODAS las ganas a esta clase... más adelante nos van a dar un módulo extra de tres horas con modelos posando sólo para practicar. Eso va a ser la zorra!!

Finally classes started! And my very first one was "Head drawing". There were some quick'n sketchy rough head drawings in various positions and one longer pose, which is the drawing I'm posting here. I'm really excited about this class... later on, we'll have an extra 3 hours of models posing! It's gonna be cool!!

ps1- Yes he was frowny... very frowny

ps2- Oh well, that very day I met an ex coke-head who invited me to dance, drink alcohol and pick up some women. It was a funny chat though, he showed me some dance moves and talked about which country could he escape (because he was being chased by the FBI or something... or at least that's what he said, hahaha)

El último trabajo que he hecho a la fecha para Claroscuro. La gracia era copiarlo de foto lo más igual posible. No pienso subir la foto... pero les puedo decir que quedó bastante parecido. En serio! Creanme!!

Para no dejarlo tan botado...

Hacer esto fue un caos... no por el dibujo mismo, sino por que tuve que comenzarlo tres veces, comprar focos que resultó estaban malos y toda una odisea para por fin al final poder sentarme a dibujar esto.

Este es un estudio de telas hecho con carbón. A pesar del poco tiempo, quedé bastante contento con el resultado =)
